This is a personal letter from Bito Billa to Wild and Free Foundation at a time when COVID-19 regulations had shut down all activities in his country, Mozambique. In his letter, he briefly explains what impact the Rhino Cup Champions League has had on his community, family, and himself.

Bito Billa has been actively involved in the Rhino Cup Champions League since the initiative started in August of 2016. Billa has been the top goal scorer for three years in a row, 2017–2019. Billa is very positive and strives to be the best on the soccer field and for his family.

Billa played for Sabié FC in 2017, and then he was picked up by Corumana FC, which has been the best team in the league from 2016 to 2019.

“From 2016 to 2019, the rate of deaths and imprisonment because of rhino poaching has decreased drastically here in Sabié, and that is already an important value for our society.

And it is very sad that COVID-19 has paralyzed this particular sporting activity, because at the beginning of April 2020, we already lost 5 young locals who invaded Kruger National Park… to go hunting for Rhinos. This is very sad…😢”

"The Rhino Cup Champions League is our Hope. It is our Health. It is our Joy. It is also our Change."

“The lack of football here for me means the absence of health, occupation, and fun for all of us.
The Rhino Cup Champions League has become an influence, a lifestyle for children, teenagers, young people and even the elderly.
The return of RCCL will mean a lot to me because it will bring back an occupation for players and fun for football lovers.

And the realization of this championship is very important; that is, it changes the lives of young people in an intelligent way. There is a lot of creativity and good motivation for the players. In short, there is great quality for the profile of the society. For me, the RCCL brought change, evolution, and improvement in our community and in local football.

The Rhino Cup Champions League is our Hope. It is our Health. It is our Joy. It is also our Change."
