Donate to a 501(c)(3) NPO You are interested in learning more about A 501(c)(3) NPO, correct? Perhaps you are on the fence about making a donation, or doubtful about charitable giving? Let's make a difference to that today by discussing the advantages of contributing to nonprofit organizations, the several ways in which you may make a donation, and the goals of Wild and Free Foundation. What is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization? The phrase 501(c)(3) often appears in conversations about charitable organizations. While it's true that every charity also operates as a nonprofit, not every nonprofit is a charity. The 501(c)(3) nonprofits are "exempt groups”, such as Wild and Free Foundation, they qualify for that status because they're dedicated to an "exempt purpose”. Exempt purposes can be charitable, religious, educational, scientific, literary or preventing cruelty to children or animals. Testing for public safety and fostering amateur sports competition are also included. Beneficiaries include both donors and the nonprofits they support when a nonprofit is granted tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. In accordance with a current IRS regulation, donors may deduct the whole amount of their contributions to specified nonprofits. The capacity to receive contributions and gifts that are tax-deductible to the giver is a major perk of being tax-exempt under IRS Section 501(c)(3). Donations are eligible for tax deductions when the donor meets the following criteria: - Before donating money, verify if the nonprofit organization is classified as a 501(c)(3) by the Internal Revenue Service. - The donor should complete the IRS Schedule A to be eligible for the deduction. - The contributions should be deducted from their taxable income in the tax year in which they were made. Visit the IRS's website for more information on the designation of charitable organizations. The term "501(c)" refers to a specific provision of the United States Internal Revenue Code and associated tax categories for nonprofit organizations. Why should you donate to a 501(c)(3) NPO? Before handing over your hard-earned cash, it's crucial that you verify that your donation will really help those in need. Nonprofit organizations follow a guiding set of principles in their daily work. Because of their dedication to openness, transparency, honesty, and integrity, anybody who supports us financially or in other ways may feel certain that their money and efforts are going to a worthwhile cause. 501(c)(3) NPO groups drive much of the good in the world and promote public-interest initiatives. They do not, however, do it alone. Donors are a NPO organization's lifeblood. While it is possible to depend only on government financing and grants, it is private contributions that help nonprofits gain traction. Without them, 501(c)(3) organizations are at a significant disadvantage. In the case of Wild and Free Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the majority of our funding must come from public contributions, with the remaining one-third coming from a diverse variety of backgrounds and classes. Donations to these nonprofit organizations are generally tax-deductible, and because of these tax advantages, maintaining a 501(c)(3) status is critical for the existence of a nonprofit organization. The 501(c)(3) exemption is intended to assist organizations, such as WFF, that pursue "exempt objectives," such as promoting amateur sports competitions or preventing cruelty to children, women, or animals. One of the primary benefits of being tax-exempt under IRS Section 501(c)(3) is the ability to accept contributions and donations that are tax-deductible to the donor. What are the benefits of donating to a 501(c)(3) NPO? Aside from the obvious feel-good element, there are many other advantages to giving to a quality nonprofit organization. Inspire Kids to Give Back Children take notice when helping the less fortunate is emphasized from an early age. Raising money in a manner that is manageable for them may take the form of setting up a lemonade stand, for example. What is Wild and Free Foundation? Wild and Free Foundation is a 501(c)(3) NPO dedicated to protecting and preserving wildlife and uplifting communities. Our goal is to make sure that future generations can experience the same wonder and beauty of the natural world that we do today. Our mission is to empower the youth and communities in rural Africa, by reducing their dependence on poaching of the African rhino and wildlife. We are on a collaborative journey to define a new positive trajectory for the irreplaceable and endangered African rhinoceros and the unique but underserved communities throughout Africa. The WFF project's primary goal is to dramatically reduce rhino poaching. It is designed to break the cycle of poaching that cripples the communities – communities targeted by external poaching organizations that exploit the challenging realities of rural African youth. Wild and Free believes poaching will be dramatically reduced when a prosperous perimeter exists around conservation areas, community citizens will have very few or no reasons to poach. Through the project the communities have less animosity towards wildlife conservation, in return, more wildlife is being protected. How will Wild and Free Foundation empower youth and communities? The Rhino Cup Champions League (RCCL), a rural African soccer league, provides sport and economic opportunities to communities, reducing their dependency on wildlife poaching and, more importantly, minimizing poaching of African rhinos. The soccer league was founded through community engagement and alongside several people. Wild and Free Foundation is fostering successful relationships with the people and communities through a clear sense of purpose, building the soccer league for young people located in rural communities around wildlife reserves and national parks. WFF finds solutions that work for the greater good of conservation. Through community engagement we are able to find these innovative initiatives, like the RCCL, because we truly care about our environment. WFF’s engagement through soccer helps us build lasting partnerships across industries as well as demographics. What impact does the Rhino Cup Champions League have on the community? The Rhino Cup Champions League is a key initiative to strengthen communities relationships, build trust and reduce the animosity towards wildlife conservation. The RCCL’s primary goal is to be the largest and most impactful soccer league in rural Africa. The RCCL has tremendous momentum and impact. Fewer people are being killed, or arrested, attempting to poach wildlife, in turn less families resent conservation. The reduction in drug and alcohol abuse, has lead to fewer spousal abuse cases and an overall drop in community crime and theft. The league generates increased income through league jobs, prize money, and vendors (primarily women) selling food and beverages at games. Meeting people through new social opportunities, ignites hope and joy for spectators and players alike. The RCCL’s biggest impact is breaking the cycle of poaching that cripples these communities. A new generation of young people is growing up living the mantra of the league, “Young People Free from Poaching.” We encourage you to support our cause and become a donor, helping wildlife, people and the environment at the same time.
